Sean Becker to be the first-ever Ariens Nordic Center general manager

BRILLION, Wis. (July 26, 2022) - We are delighted to welcome Sean Becker to the AriensCo team as the first-ever general manager of the Ariens Nordic Center.

Becker, a seasoned veteran in the industry, will add valuable insight to the building process as well as provide details on successfully running a Nordic center.

Before joining AriensCo, Becker built, operated and maintained a snowmaking operation at the Kettle Moraine State Forest, Lapham Peak Unit for 10 years. He also created a mobile grooming and Nordic ski lesson service to expand Nordic skiing into areas that could not naturally support it.

In addition to his many years of service in the industry, Becker has been Nordic skiing since the age of 6. He has participated in the American Birkebeiner, North America's largest cross-country ski marathon, 18 times.

As the general manager for the Ariens Nordic Center, you can expect to see Becker, among other things, share his expertise on snowmaking and trail grooming processes.

“Making snow and grooming for Nordic skiing isn’t easy but having a strong skiing background will help create a ‘world class every day’ experience for skiers and Biathletes of all abilities,” said Becker.

Keeping on track for a December 2022 opening, Becker will begin taking on day-to-day responsibilities working alongside the current Ariens Nordic Center team.

“We are ecstatic to have Sean join our team and lead Ariens Nordic Center,” said Monica Ariens, managing director, AriensCo. “His extensive experience and network within the Nordic community will ensure our success.”

Ariens Nordic Center is located adjacent to Round Lake Farms on 200 acres on the outskirts of Brillion. It will include a year-round trail network for recreation, training and competition for cross-country skiing, biathlon, roller-skiing, running, hiking, and more.  The facility will be open to the public and include lighting, snowmaking, a paved roller-ski loop for off-season training, a pond for snowmaking purposes and a 20-point biathlon range. Construction began in November 2021. It is expected to open in December 2022.
