Ariens Sponsoring U.S. Biathlon Team set to compete in 2022 Olympic Winter Games

Brillion, Wis. (Feb. 4, 2022)  Ariens, known as the King of Snow® and the original brand of AriensCo, is once again partnering with the U.S. Biathlon Association to support the team on its run in Beijing.

The U.S. Biathlon Association works to support the development of biathlon in the U.S. and prepare athletes for competition, including the Olympic Winter Games. Ariens has sponsored the team since 2019 after a team member saw an Ariens snow blower in the Alps in Europe and got the idea to ask the company for support. Since then, Ariens leaders have become passionate fans of the team and the sport.

The biathlon is an extremely challenging sport combining cross-country skiing and marksmanship” explained Monica Ariens, managing director, hospitality. “It’s very exciting to watch and cheer on the team. I’d compare the atmosphere of the BMW IBU World Cup to the excitement of an NFL game."

This year’s team is comprised of biathletes from Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Wisconsin including two biathletes from towns near AriensCo’s headquarters in Brillion – Deedra Irwin, Pulaski, Wis., and Paul Schommer, Appleton, Wis. The team will be competing at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing from Feb. 4 – 20.

Ariens has provided critical support to our team, enabling the world class training and essential support for fast skis, nutrition and recovery,” said U.S. Biathlon President and CEO, Max Cobb. “Beyond that direct support, the enthusiasm of the Ariens family for the team and the sport of biathlon means so much to all of us. It is epitomized by the new Ariens Nordic Center. We look forward to bringing the team there for training and national competitions.

Ariens is taking its love of biathlon a step further, recently announcing construction of Ariens Nordic Center. Located on 200 acres on the outskirts of Brillion, the center will include a year-round trail network for recreation, training, and competition for cross-country skiing, biathlon, roller-skiing, running, hiking, and more. The facility will be open to the public and include lighting, snowmaking, a paved roller ski loop for off-season training, a pond for snowmaking purposes and a 20-point biathlon range. It is projected to be open December 2022. Find out more at www.ariensnordic.com.
